How DueDone works

DueDone is a bill-paying platform built on one rule: money never touches the person asking, and never passes through us. Donors pay the biller directly — the electric company, the landlord, the hospital — and the proof is public.

If you need help with a bill

1. Create a free account

Sign up with your email. Accounts exist so bills can be verified and payments can be proven — posters and donors use the same kind of account.

2. Post your bill

Enter the biller, the amount, and the due date, and upload a photo or PDF of the actual bill. You also provide the biller's payment instructions (for example, "pay as guest on the biller's website with this account number") — those instructions are never shown publicly. They are only revealed to a signed-in donor at the moment they choose to pay.

3. Choose your privacy

Named — your name and city show. Semi-anonymous (default) — first name and city only, and we tell you to redact account numbers and addresses on your document before uploading. Fully anonymous — just the city and the bill. You also choose whether a paid bill can be shared as a receipt post, and whether it can appear in a video.

4. We verify it by hand

Every bill goes through a human verification queue: the document has to match the amount, biller, and due date, and the balance has to look real and current. Verified bills appear in the public feed. Unverifiable bills don't.

5. Donors pay your biller — not you

A donor picks your bill, sees the payment instructions, and pays the biller directly. They submit the biller's confirmation number, we check it, and your bill is stamped PAID ✓ in public. Partial payments count too — the feed shows exactly how much is covered and how much is left.

House rules: one active bill per household, up to two paid bills in any 12 months, and no cash-outs ever — there is nothing to cash out, because money only ever moves from a donor to a biller.

If you want to pay someone's bill

1. Browse the verified feed

Every bill in the feed at getduedone.com has passed human verification. Filter by type — utilities, rent, medical, auto, phone — or by what's due soonest.

2. Pay the biller directly

Sign in, open a bill, and follow its payment instructions: the biller's own website, phone line, or payment portal. You pay the company owed — DueDone never holds your money and never takes a cut of a gift.

3. Submit the confirmation

Paste the confirmation or reference number the biller gave you. Once we confirm it, the amount counts publicly and the bill moves toward PAID ✓. Give anonymously, or use your name and climb the public leaderboard.

Why it's built this way

Asking strangers for money online usually fails on trust: donors can't tell real need from a scam, and posters get their private documents spread everywhere. DueDone is the trust layer between them — verified documents, redacted public listings, payment instructions revealed only at the pay step, money that can only flow to the biller, and a public PAID ✓ backed by a biller confirmation. Read the FAQ for the honest fine print, including the big one: DueDone is not a charity, and gifts are not tax-deductible.
